Jelina Saliu has a singular mission: to support entrepreneurs in achieving their dreams. With a specialty in growth-stage consumer and consumable goods businesses, Jelina works in partnership with company founders as they identify their personal and professional goals and create a roadmap to achieve them. She has positioned clients for strategic acquisition and sustainable, long-term value creation. Her most recent major client, The Laundress, sold to Unilever in early 2019 with Jelina as its acting COO.
Jelina founded Accounting Management Inc., a boutique specialized services firm, over a decade ago. Her company provides CFO and COO services, tax planning and accounting, and payroll and bookkeeping services.
As the primary point person for clients, Jelina seeks an intimate understanding of her clients’ critical business issues so as to best advise them strategically and to set them up to thrive in an evolving marketplace.
In addition to the services her firm provides, Jelina works personally with her clients to spearhead the development of specific areas of focus. She has utilized her relationships and experience to secure financing, establish human resources and benefits policies, develop retail expansion strategies, create customer loyalty programs, optimize supply chains, and produce long-term growth plans.
Her clients are in the home care, beverage, fashion, and service industries. They include Marysia, a high fashion swim and resortwear collection currently expanding into retail and ready-to-wear; Family Suarez Brewery, a brewer-owned local business based in Hudson, NY, and others. She also advises startups with a social mission.
After 11 years of working with the luxury laundry and home care brand The Laundress, Jelina stepped in as COO in 2017 in order to prepare the company for acquisition.
Jelina graduated from the Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College with a BBA in Finance. She lives with her family in New York.
